The 2024 vintage started ~2 weeks early and maintained this lead until harvest. Vineyard work was also advanced. A mid-June cold snap (12–17°C for 4–5 days) stressed the vines, slowing development. By mid-summer, drought set in, causing uneven ripening—shriveling berries in the upper vineyard, while the lower part remained under-ripe. Two crucial 9mm rains (Aug 1 & 8) helped recovery. A staggered harvest was the best solution, beginning August 9 and ending mid-month. The wines are fruit-forward, full-bodied, and balanced in alcohol.
